Tom Shook, DVM

Dr. Shook is originally from Little Rock, Arkansas. He attended college at Christian Brothers College in Memphis, Tennessee, and then Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He graduated from L.S.U. School of Veterinary Medicine in 1987 and interned in Large Animal Medicine and Surgery at the University of Minnesota in 1988.

After spending 2 years in equine practice in central Florida, he moved to the Dallas area in 1990. Initially, Dr. Shook worked in mixed animal practices in Lancaster and Princeton before becoming a 100% small animal practitioner, working in Irving and Plano. He joined Medallion Animal Clinic in northeast Dallas as the managing veterinarian in 1994, partner by 1997, and sole owner in 2009. (Dr. Russell Johnston worked with him there from 1996 to 2006.) Unfortunately, due to decisions made by the landlord, he had to close that clinic.
