Dr. Shook, DVM

Originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, Dr. Shook began his academic journey at Christian Brothers College in Memphis, Tennessee, before continuing on to Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 1987, followed by a prestigious internship in Large Animal Medicine and Surgery at the University of Minnesota in 1988.

Dr. Shook began his veterinary career in equine practice in central Florida, where he worked for two years before relocating to the Dallas area in 1990. There, he practiced in mixed animal clinics in Lancaster and Princeton before transitioning to small animal care in Irving and Plano. In 1994, he joined Medallion Animal Clinic in northeast Dallas as the managing veterinarian. He became a partner in 1997 and assumed full ownership of the clinic in 2009. From 1996 to 2006, he worked alongside Dr. Russell Johnston at Medallion. In 2022, after selling his clinic, Dr. Shook joined Dr. Johnston at Chisholm Ridge Pet Hospital.

With decades of experience and a steadfast commitment to compassionate, high-quality care, Dr. Shook continues to serve his patients and their families with expertise and dedication.
